Operations Manager- Music Books and Sheet Music

Profile : Operations Manager.
Key Skills :

1.    Overseeing the import of music books – in terms of order placement, import documentation, payment etc.

2.    Overseeing the printing of international music books (in India), with strict control on quality and cost, and ensuring optimal print runs and stocking.

3.    Working with the sales teams to ensure growth in offtake of music books – imported as well as printed in India. These books would be sold in physical as well as digital (pdf) formats; both formats would be available in the company’s retail showrooms (there would be a kiosk in the showrooms, for printing of digital books) and e
commerce website; the candidate would need to:

a.    Coordinate with the technology teams to ensure physical and digital (pdf) books are appropriately listed on the website (e.g. setting up keywords, product listing priorities, offers etc.) as well as the print kiosks.

b.    Train the retail staff in handholding customers seeking digital books from the print kiosks.

4.    An internationally reputed publisher of online sheet music intends to launch a customised website for India, for Indian customers to download single pieces of international (and Indian) sheet music, in association with Furtados; the candidate would be required to:

a.    Coordinate with an outsourced agency for Indian language translations for this website.

b.    Recommend India pricing strategy (subscription and a la carte) for the website (map against similar services such as Netflix, Gaana, Saavn etc.).

c.    Work with the marketing and content teams for social media marketing of this website.

5.    While all the above pertains to international music, the company also intends to have some Indian content on all these platforms. For this, the candidate would need to work with various internal teams for identifying and shortlisting relevant Indian songs (from movies or independent artists); and thereafter manage the relationship with the rights holders from negotiation to acquisition.

6.    Monthly reporting, such as:

a.    SKU level sales analysis, for each business (i.e. physical, digital, sheet music).

b.    Sales analysis of the online sheet music website – e.g. number of subscribers, number of downloads, average price per download, sales by geography, demography, and language.

c.    Monthly billing and reconciliation, including royalty calculations.

Manager - E-commerce

Profile : Manager - E-commerce.
Key Skills :
  1. Managing and supervising the entire Ecommerce department. This includes the company’s own ecommerce site as well as ecommerce marketplaces (Amazon and Flipkart) who purchase goods from the company.
  2. Developing Ecommerce strategy, with respect to catalogue, inventory, sales, brand visibility etc.
  3. Managing Ecommerce back end, such as setting up keywords, product listing priorities, offers, search engine optimization, data security.
  4. Providing training to the Ecommerce department staff, allocating work to them and monitoring their performance with specific KPIs (e.g. call handling per staff, response time, sales conversion, billing and dispatch timelines etc.) using scientific tools such as ZOHO CRM.
  5. Keeping abreast with latest development in the Ecommerce space and suggesting appropriate changes to the company’s website in terms of website features and customer experience (UX); coordinating with website development partner and / or in house team for implementation.
  6. Ensuring accurate listing of products on the website and the marketplaces.
  7. Working closely with the Content and Marketing teams, to ensure appropriate content on the website, marketplaces and on digital marketing platforms.
  8. Setting up tracking tools, such as Google Analytics, and analysing and improving key indicators (traffic, bounce rate, conversion rate, cart abandonment rate, average ticket size etc.).
  9. Analysing competitor strategies, tracking and mapping competition (pricing, offers etc.).
  10. Preparing budgets for the Ecommerce department.
  11. Analysing and improving the profitability of the Ecommerce department.
